Vintage Sourcing
If you can't find exactly what you are looking for in my shop I can source it for you - It might take a day, or it might take six months, but I’ll find it. Nearly twenty five years of buying, selling, and early mornings at antique markets have left me with a brilliant network of dealers, and a bit of a knack for tracking things down - sometimes I feel a bit like an antiques terrier, sniffing out the very best things I can find.
Floristry workshops
There’s something special about bringing a little of the natural world into your home. It adds warmth and richness, always shifting gently with the seasons. A couple of times a year, I run wreath-making workshops in Broadstairs and London, along with private workshops in my studio or at your home.
Interior Design
I believe creating a beautiful home takes time - gathering things slowly, living with them, and letting it all evolve. It can’t be rushed. Everyone has their own style, and my role is simply to draw that out of you - guiding you in a way that feels instinctive, collaborative, and entirely your own.

About Me
I’ve been buying and selling vintage items, decorative antiques and paintings for over 25 years, which probably predates everything else. What started as a hobby became a passion, and the trade itself is still one of the things I love most: the early mornings, the hunt, the haggle, the deal done well, and never quite knowing what treasure you might find.
Interiors have always been part of the mix too. I’ve always loved bold, rich, colourful rooms that feel like home, but still feel elevated and special. When a friend asked me to help with her house, I leapt at the chance. That’s really where Chicken Interiors began, the first tangle of two things I’ve always loved: interiors and antiques.
From there everything else grew quite organically. I’ve always loved bringing the natural world into the home, and it started with a wreath I made one Christmas. Someone asked if I would show her how to make one too, and that led to my first workshop with just two people. From there it grew into bringing groups of people together to work with flowers and foliage to celebrate the change of season.
People are often surprised to hear that I spent a number of years in the wine trade, and they think it’s an unusual route into interiors. I don’t. Wine taught me to look closely and analytically, to notice colour, texture, smell, richness and character, but also to see the whole fabulous picture. A bottle of wine, much like a beautiful room or a vintage picture, is something that can simply make life better. I no longer work in wine, but still have the odd glass now and then!
For a long time, all of this was rather tangled together: antiques, colour, flowers, interiors and wine. I’ve finally pulled the threads apart a little, and turned them into things I can share with other people.
That sharing is really the point of it all. I’m not interested in beautiful things being kept away or treated too seriously. An old object, a room full of character, a jug of flowers. None of them are essential, but they make life richer, warmer and more joyful. I like things that are considered but not precious, beautiful but relaxed, and always with a bit of personality. It’s about creating something that feels good to be around, and passing that feeling on.
I live in Broadstairs by the sea, after many years in London, and both places feed me in completely different ways. Somewhere between the two came City & Sea, my candle brand, but that’s a story for another page.
